Im an idiot 😞 but in my defensive i got errors the very next day,

Hi Guys,

Im having trouble, i recently baught a Asus G74sx and i cant get it going im pretty upset, it lasted 1 day , i rebooted it the next day and it wanted to do a system recovery. Every time i tried that it didnt work, it keept saying systemrescoveryoffline. The only thing i could do was wipe the system and reformat, not realising i didnt keep the hidden drive with all the drivers. I spent 5 hours trying to fix it im about to give up but i just cant get it working ive tried downloading the drivers from the asus website with no real success. Also will it make a difference if i have Windows 7 Ultimate vs Windows 7 Home Prem OS? Ive got the serial id at the back but i dont have a CD, as the ebay dealership did not supply a CD. Im completley lost, can anybody list to me the exact drivers i need to get wireless work? and mouse, and the basic components for my laptop to work?. I got the LAN drivers which allowed the PC to work through a dirrect connection to the modem however its my wife laptop and we want to get her on the wireless. Im pretty lost what to do,

TBH im not sure why it failed the next day anyway.

GRRR so annoying.

PS apologies for any spelling or grammer mistakes as ill openly admit my english is below good.

Thanks guys, any help would be greatly appreciated

You can download the Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit w/SP1 ISO file from a link in the OP of the "Drivers. Apps, and How-to's" thread and burn it to a DVD to use for the install. Then you can install the more recent drivers needed for your hardware (links for the drivers are also in that OP). The difference being no ASUS applications are installed as in the ASUS Factory Restore.

If you choose the Windows clean install, I recommend using the ABR utility from a flash drive to backup your current Windows Activation info, then after you've had time to install the latest Windows Updates and confirm everything works as it should, you can then restore your original Activation info from the flash drive. Alternatively, there is an OEM license key you can use on a tag on the bottom of your laptop. This license is valid only for installing the Windows 7 version that originally came with your laptop.

http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?9082-New-notebook-Look-here! provides additional info on performing a clean Windows 7 installation.

Ariyahn, do you have any copy of the recovery partition at all? Did you completely delete it from the hard drive?
