Need help completely disabling G751JY touchpad

Swampthing

Long ago I disabled the touchpad because my palms constantly hit it during typing. Recently it has somehow reactivated, and I can't figure out how to disable it. I've looked under DEVICES and it's not there. The standard function key shortcut doesn't work either. Can anyone help? It is maddening!

on your taskbar Notification area, you should have an Icon for Asus Smart Gestures right click that for options on the touchpad.

If you using a bluetooth mouse there would be a setting in the mouse control to turn off the touchpad when connected

Nope. Not there. I had this laptop BEFORE Smart Gestures were introduced. When I try to download and install the program, I get install errors 2502 and 2503.

It's not as simple as that. *Of course, I downloaded the Smart Gestures program from Asus support because touchpad software ever came with the older computers. Many people ran into this issue years ago, you might recall. Also, can't update the BIOS because ASUS LIVE won't launch. It Says I do not have permission even though I am logged in under ADMIN. *I can't remember how we all fixed it years ago, but it wasn't very simple.

Personally, i always update the BiOS with EZFlash inside the BIOS/UEFI itself, Try spamming the Delete or F2 button after pressing the on the button that should put you right in the BIOS. Register your notebook and all the drivers and software will be available for your notebook and OS

LOL my laptop was registered FOUR years ago. None of your solutions worked, but eventually I found a solution on my own to turn it off through the BIOS.
