So, I recently got my Asus G750JW back from its second round of being repaired.
To make a long story short;
The first repair was due to a GPU failure around a month after initially buying it. Sent it out through, per instruction by Asus Customer Service, Geek Squad at the Best Buy I bought it from. Got it back, and everything was fine.
Fast forward about two months, and all of a sudden I'm experiencing an issue with my laptop not starting up at all. Took it back to Geek Squad and sent it back out. I just picked it back up yesterday, turns out the Motherboard and Hard Drive needed to be replaced.
Now that I practically have a new computer... I gotta say, I'm not too happy with the laptop now. The keyboard no longer lights up, the fan is making an odd clicking noise, you can hear something rattling inside the case, and due to the Hard Drive being swapped, I no longer have all the proper Asus/Windows files. I tried doing a factory reset when I got it back, and Windows told me I was missing some necessary files and that I needed a media disk.
So, where the laptop seems to be performing better, I seem to have inherited some new rather annoying problems.
So, with all that said... I guess my question is, how do I proceed? Its still under warranty, so do I just take it back to Geek Squad, and have it handled again? Me being rather computer savvy, do I just play rebel and crack it open myself? Can Asus customer service do anything for me, mostly on terms of the missing Windows files? I know its a stretch, but, what are the chances of just getting a replacement? I'm growing rather resentful of this particular unit...
In other words, how would you, the community, proceed in this situation?
