Need A Numlock Key (asus G74)

Playing DC Universe Online and one of my skills is only useable by pressing the numlock key. However my Asus G74 has no numlock key to press...

There is no way to rebind the skill in game (SOE...) that I know of, plus its my fast flight key so without it I fly super noob slow making the game really excruciating.

I don't know what douche bag at Asus thought he could invent a better keyboard, however you sir should be fired, your horrible at your job.

I eventually had to go into the text config file and replace the key bindings to a key that acctualy exists....
Seriously fire the douche bag who thought up the calculator key idea.

I'd love to know why it was decided to remove the NumLock key. My best guess is they needed to remap a key on the standard keyboard to be used to provide some other advantageous functionality - Express Gate Cloud perhaps?

Do you know?

Welcome to the chump club. ASUS played us for chumps with this. And now they've played you for a chump too.

Everything I've seen from ASUS on this so far indicates they don't care.

(edited: previously I mistakenly mentioned the G73. It's the G74 that has the numlock problem. We'll see if ASUS pride triumphs over their brains with the G75).

I'm still thinking positive and hoping for the rumoured BIOS release coming up to fix that issue. In the meantime, I think Windows users can use the program numlock to toggle it on or off. Us Linux users are however constrained to wait....doesn't feel like a complete DTR without a functioning numlock keystate.

Although I hope you are right, I've given up hope.

If ASUS wanted to fix this problem, they would have done so by now.

It's not like they've never written a BIOS before.

Yes, but it makes sense for a company to wait and accumulate a list of problems that can be fixed in one BIOS release. The last BIOS came in October, and since then people on this forum have identified enough new things that I'm hopeful they will all be addressed in the next release (if there is one); i.e. numlock key, keyboard lock with trackpad disable, improper readings of memory SPD settings, ...? May be dreaming, but the G74 is still king and I hope the proud users on this forum have sent a message.
