My G750JX moves SO SLOW upon rebooting and resuming. 100% Disk Usage, but idling?

Hello guys.

My laptop has had this lovely quirk that involves idling at 100% Disk usage and moving painfully slow for a solid 5 minutes upon rebooting or resuming my laptop. The reason I include the bit about the 100% Disk Usage is I conveniently see my computer start to actually function right around the time the disk usage decreases to normal levels.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, has anyone found a solution to this? This is my one complaint about this laptop, and unfortunately I am barely out of the year warranty 😞

Thanks!

finleyfreak4, this should be easy to debug using Windows Task Manager and Resource Monitor.

Open up Task Manager as soon as you boot, then Go to the Performance Tab, at the bottom in text is "Open Resource Monitor", open it.

You want to go to the Disk tab, and sort by Read or Write columns, find the one that is doing the most, check it's box, and look at the files it is working with in the frame below.

Here is an example, I started Perfect Disk Pro to have something to monitor, but you are looking for something similar - like Windows Search Index, or DVD Media index, or a Virus checker / Spyware scanner - something is running at boot and rapidly using disk IO.
