My g74 won't start!
Hi guys!

My G74 suddenly stoped working. I was just surfing the web when all of a sudden it shutted down. It didnt give me any blue screen or nothing, just turned completely off. Now it wont start, i removed the battery and it seemed ok, everything actually seems ok, memorys, hard drives and such. I have no clue of what to do.

has this happened to anyone here before? can someone give me some advice?

tks

Does the laptop turns on when you remove the battery?

Overheating can cause a laptop to shutdown like someone pulled the plug. Power supply failure can do the same. If it feels hot, let it sit to cool down for 30 minutes, then attempt to restart it. If successful, load up HWINFO64 and monitor your CPU/GPU temperatures and Fan speeds.

If either fan fails to ramp up beyond 2000 RPM, shut the laptop down immediately.

i haven't tried turning it on without the battery in it, i didn't actually know this was possible!

i'll try it later.

i tried to cool it for a while with all inside and it didn't turn on, if it doesnt turn on with the battery out, what should i do?!

Open the back and reseat the memory chips. If the memory chip in slot 1 has a poor connection, or is defective, your laptop won't start. You could try swapping the memory chips to get a new chip in slot 1. You might also reseat the HDD(s) while you're in there

If that fails, you could test if your power adapter is putting out 19.5 volts /150 amps or try another power adapter of similar or greater capacity.

You may need to return the laptop to the retailer for exchange (if new), or set up an RMA for Warranty repair with ASUS.
