Dear friends, I think I have tried it all, by restoring the PC to a much older date, but I still get the same "black-out" (no blue screen) and laptop restart, but losing everything I was doing. At the beginning it was only when playing some game, but now it happens any time (it could even happen right now.....)
I have replaced the power supply and just spent many $ for nothing. So right now I´m sure it is a harware problem... but what problem???
I need a *.pdf service manual (if it exists at all for this G75VW unit), can anybody guide me?
I plan on replacing all the thermal paste, but where else should I look for problems? The only thing I have changed not long ago, was a 750 GB SSD from Samsung EVO 840 and added 8gb ram (16 total). I use a Dell monitor with highest resolution the Graphics card can handle, but the crash happens even with the laptop alone..
Thanks a lot Chakal, because we are going in the right direction. It was at 623 if I remember well, and took it down to 513 (does not accept 512 for some reason). Now the game still fails and I get an error stating that I must restart the game, BUT I DON'T GET THE hard crash, since the computer continues running without trouble. I think you have touched the weak point on my G75VW and that is something I'm greatful to you. The next step would be on how to allow the game to continue running without failing, and what is more, this Dead Space 3 used to run flawlesly without failing at the 623 setting, so I wonder if it is time to replace the NVIDIA graphics card.
PS. I haven't a clue of how this MSI afterburner works, and I only reduced the clock to the figure you mentioned, nothing else....
