MaxxAudio Download unavailable? [solved]

VortexSuit

Just picked up the g750jw last night and started putting together a clean install. I noticed that most every driver/app was available on the support site, however I cannot seem to locate the link to maxxaudio.

Am I just missing something?

Edit: Solution: 1 - uninstall realtek driver, 2 - restart, 3 - download realtek driver again and delete the rtkhdaud.dat from the Config folder of the driver file as well as in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder, 4 - install driver

See the google cached thread - http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:Cbl-0hqi21cJ:rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php%... that points to http://forums.**********.com/showthread.php?p=225

Note that I had to delete the rtkhdaud.dat

It comes as part of the Realtek audio driver version *.6870 which unfortunately isn't posted on the ASUS download site (the newer posted driver versions don't include it if you check this thread Waves MaxxAudio gone???), but may have come with your original ASUS factory image if you still have it.

If you can get to the original ASUS factory image, check under the 'C' drive for the 'eSupport' folder and 'eDriver' folder to create a copy of the G750 driver DVD or audio driver.
Check the 'Filelist.txt' file under the 'eDriver' folder to find out which driver versions are included.

Edit: Glad to hear you could solve it and thanks for letting us know what happened!

It was removed but in the latest drivers should be up. I will check again here if it was delayed..

Thanks for the replies. I had seen that thread prior, however the thread linked within it that appears to have the answer no longer exists (at least that's the error when I click on it). I looked at the driver package I downloaded from the support site and it appears to have the maxxaudio control panel app within it, however it does not get enabled after installation apparently.

Trying to edit the first post seemed to have deleted it. Regardless, found the solution, copy/pasted below:

Edit: Solution: 1 - uninstall realtek driver, 2 - restart, 3 - download realtek driver again and delete the rtkhdaud.dat from the Config folder of the driver file as well as in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder, 4 - install driver

Odd, somehow my edit of my initial post caused it to be deleted, found the solution in a google cached thread that linked to a tweaktown post. Here's the short version:

1 - uninstall realtek driver, 2 - restart, 3 - download realtek driver again and delete the rtkhdaud.dat from the Config folder of the driver file as well as in Windows\System32\Drivers folder, 4 - install driver
