Kingston HyperX Predator SSD PCIe Gen2 x4 compatibility with G751?

Hello guys, I am a happy owner of a G751 laptop with the M.2 socket.
My italian version of the G751 comes with the 128GB SSD SATAIII hard drive and since I want to upgrade the hdd I bought the M.2 bracket (which I got today, finally!).
Now I have to buy a new M.2 x4 SSD and I have a doubt about the compatibility of this one:

HyperX Predator SSD PCIe Gen2 x4 240GB.

Is there someone who just tried the compatibility?
I'd like to buy (in case of problem) the Samsung XP941 256GB as an alternative.
Any suggestion is much appreciated.

You may just want to hold out abit, Samsung is coming out with the XP951 very soon and it will be twice as fast as the XP941

But there're many new M.2 PCIE x4 SSDs coming soon with much higher write/read speed such as Samsung SM951

kalo86, the HyperX Predator SSD PCIe Gen2 x4is a new release, and is in the same category speed-wise as the Samsung XP941, but just a little faster on writes for the 480GB model - a little slower for the 240GB.

It isn't quite as fast as the new Samsung SM951, actually the SM951 is way faster than anything else out there, but we haven't had a benchmark from a G751, so only time will tell what the max performance will be.

So, depending on cost the HyperX Predator SSD PCIe Gen2 x4 might be a good buy over the Samsung XP941.

The SM951 will be faster, but as that part will likely be hard to get and overpriced for a while after release it might be cheaper and easier to get the HyperX Predator SSD PCIe Gen2 x4.

The HyperX Predator M.2 looks like an interesting product, but when it comes to laptop machines, be aware of how much power it needs if battery life is important to you. I couldn't find a direct apples-to-apples comparison of power usage, but the officially published specs are useful:

HyperX Predator M.2: requires 1.38W Idle / 1.4W Avg / 1.99W (MAX) read / 8.25W (MAX) write
Samsung XP941 M.2: requires 0.08W Idle / 5.8W Typical
Samsung SM951 M.2: requires 0.05W Idle / 6.5W Typical and also supports L1.2 sleep mode using just 0.002W (2mW)

There is another thread showing that the G751 comes from the factory with an XP941 installed, so that's the only one I would be super confident will work. Since the SM951 has no OPROM (like the XP941), it depends on the manufacturer to update the bios to recognise it.
