It sounds like you're experiencing multiple issues with your Asus ROG Scar QM533 keyboard. Let's address the problems step by step:
### 1. Z Key Stuck and Repeating
If your Z key was stuck and repeating, and you had to uninstall the keyboard driver to resolve it, this might indicate a hardware or driver issue. Here’s what you can do:
- **Check Physical Key**: Ensure that the Z key is not physically stuck. Sometimes dust or debris can cause keys to stick.
- **Update Keyboard Driver**: After uninstalling the driver, reinstall the latest driver for your keyboard. You can usually find this on Asus' support website under your laptop model’s drivers section.
- **Test External Keyboard**: If possible, test an external keyboard to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the internal keyboard hardware.
### 2. Z Key Not Working After System Reset
After resetting your system, if the Z key stopped working altogether:
- **Check Device Manager**: Go to Device Manager (Right-click on Start > Device Manager), locate your keyboard under "Keyboards", and ensure it’s working properly without any errors.
- **Check Language Settings* LioGames *: Sometimes keyboard layout or language settings can affect certain keys. Verify that your language and keyboard settings are correct.
- **Update Windows**: Make sure your Windows is fully updated. Sometimes updates can resolve driver issues.
### 3. Hot Keys Not Working
If your hot keys (special function keys) are not working after reinstalling necessary software and updating the system:
- **Install ROG Software**: Ensure you have installed the ROG-specific software and drivers from Asus’ support website. These often include utilities for managing hot keys and other special functions.
- **Function Key Lock**: Some laptops have a function key lock (Fn Lock) that can disable special functions. Check if this is enabled or disabled based on your preference.
### Additional Steps:
- **BIOS Update**: Consider checking if there’s a BIOS update available for your laptop. Sometimes BIOS updates can address keyboard and hardware compatibility issues.
- **Hardware Check**: If none of the software solutions work, it might be worth having your laptop checked by a technician, especially if it’s still under warranty.
By systematically going through these steps, you should be able to diagnose and hopefully resolve the issues with your Asus ROG Scar QM533 keyboard. If problems persist, contacting Asus support directly may also provide additional troubleshooting specific to your model.
