is USB 3.0 working on WIN 8?

cheek

on win 8 and bios 221
i check the download page. No usb 3.0 driver for win 8.
my usb 3.0 external HDD works fine. checked speed read / write.
but my corsair Flash voyager GT 3.0 is only recognized as usb 2.0
i have long been under the impression win 8 has bulit in 3.0 drivers. so apparently yes since my external 3.0 is working fine at 3.0 speed.
so the win 8 3 built in 3.0 driver works for hdd but not a thumbdrive....
can anyone confirm?
i'll like to blame asus but most likely this seems to be on intel?

Try to start control panel-->device manager
And Specify the path to install the driver, whether it is normal run?

Mine are working, cant remember what driver I installed, but if that one gives you an error, try installing it in compatable mode, right click select properties and run in compatible mode, windows 7.

done some googling. The pre installed generic 3.0 drivers from win 8 is buggy. most usb 3.0 devices are detected as 2.0. to a certain extent your win 8 3.0 drivers /port are definitely working. but getting your devices to recognized is another story. and most people reported significantly slower benchmark speed on win 8 as compare to win 7.
i tried three different usb 3.0 devices. only one is detected. and even then the read write speed is appalling. there is a huge furore on intel forum. neither microsoft nor intel have said anything.
