is there any bloatware on my 751JM that needs to be removed?

League of Legends will frequently drop from 60 FPS to 30 FPS (only for a fraction of a second though, when intense things happen on the screen).

First I tried changing the Nvidia "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance" in the Nvidia control panel. At first I thought this had worked, but when I actually paid attention, it was still happening in the game (so I had simply gotten used to it).

Is there anything I can remove from my laptop to help this piece of garbage unoptimized game run better? Or is my machine powerful enough that no amount of "optimization" on my end will really do anything (with the bottleneck being Riot's garbage game code)?

falkenjeff, LoL optimizations will come from their support site, and other LoL threads on gaming boards - tuning there is where you should put your efforts to best effect.

The only for sure thing to uninstall from reports is the 2 gaming related apps from Asus, the ROG Game First III app throttles network throughput - it tries to prioritize traffic and doesn't do a good job - try uninstalling that. The other gaming app, Asus Gaming Center is just useless, and can be uninstalled, though it may not affect performance noticeably it is bloatware.

I also recommend uninstalling Asus Splendid - use the ICC profile and install that through the Color Calibration for Windows, but don't use the Splendid additions - they mess up the color balance and the adjustments aren't fine enough to fix that.

When we see complaints about LoL performance, people insisting their desktop or their friends laptop does it better than their brand new ROG laptop - it is always the LoL install/config that needs fixing.

You can also try using the ethernet interface directly to the router to rule out Wifi issues. If ethernet is better (at the same point in time) then find and update your wifi driver and router firmware (direct from vendor site).

Good luck 🙂

This one doesn't appear to exist on my machine.
