Is it possible to turn up the keyboard backlight brightness on a G751?

Hi everyone,

Just got my G751 and I'm wondering if there is any way to change the max backlight setting for the keyboard. I've noticed that pressing FN+F3 three times turns the keyboard backlight all the way off and pressing FN+F4 three times turns it all the way up. I'm a little disappointed with the maximum intensity of the keyboard backlight. Some video reviews that I watched before buying it gave me the impression that the keyboard backlight would be brighter than I'm seeing.

Maybe you've got something wront with your keyboard. I don't know how much brighter you would want it to be. I usually keep it at first level because at 3rd level it is way too much red coming out from the keyboard.

I don't think that's the problem. Unfortunately, this is my third G751JT (G751JTDH72) in two weeks. The first one wouldn't reboot after doing windows updates and so ASUS told me to take it back to the store. The second one had a dead pixel right out of the box so I took it back to the store. I'm on my third one and so far so good other than the keyboard being quite dim. All three of the G751JT's that I received had this dim keyboard. It seems to me that it would be quite a coincidence for three brand new notebooks to have a faulty keyboard. Is yours a JT or JY?

Mine is G751JY- T7015D from Romania. I dunno, maybe you had greater expectations from the laptop itself regarding the backlit keyboard. But i seriously don't think that this is something that should bother you because you won't actually need the backlit light for anything else than to see your keys in the dark.

I'd like to know too. The keys are very dark and when you have the powerful monitor beaming upon them you cannot quickly mate out what half the keys are.

actually keyboard backlit is fine when you are in dark areas.. but barely visible in daylight or well lighted room due to the red print on the keyboard (even when backlit is on)
its even more harder to see when the backlit is off.. 😄
