Inverted Screen

Hi all, just want to say best forum around. I bought my g75 apx 3 months ago from BB. This is the second one because the first one worked about 1 week then the screen went inverted every time I would touch it or pick it up. The unit was never dropped, banged or missed used yet still it happened. Now after 3 months the new one has the same problem, not as bad yet I have to pick it up in order for it to happen. Is there anybody with this problem????

into the os safe mode(hot key F8),then remove the display driver and re-start NB to re-install the display driver test again!

Is this the problem the vid driver or is it a loose connection. It only happens with this one when I pick up the laptop. The first I just had to touch the keys ect.

Psychedelic! Reminds me of my college days...

When a video issue manifests upon picking up or in some way manipulating the laptop, it is most likely a hardware issue. I suspect your LVDS cable connection has worked its way a little loose from the motherboard, as discussed by @chompers in the last post of http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-inspiron-dell-studio/489086-please-help-inspiron-laptop-screen-....

Sounds right to me. If physical motion (force) causes the problem, then I would highly doubt a driver problem. Still, it is worth doing to rule it out clearly. I second @dstrakele's suggestion, since the motion on the loose cable will create results like that - had some colleagues whose computer turned a rather strange shade of yellow because the VGA cable (this was a desktop) had worked just loose enough to loose the blue-signal, but not enough to loose the clocking signals and have the monitor say it was disconnected.

well that takes the cake, as my dad use to say. Does anybody know what the cable looks kike and were it might be located on the mb ? And again thanks for all this input its great to know there are people who really care.

It is, I believe, a very thin flat ribbon cable. Where exactly, I don't know, but I would guess it is on the top side of the mobo (right under the keyboard.

Be aware it is not meant to be a user-serviceable item, and though you likely will not have to break any yellow warranty seals, getting to the LVDS cable connections does technically void the warranty. You'll need to decide whether to RMA and retain the remainder of your warranty or attempt to service the item yourself, with the possibility of voiding the warranty if you do noticeable damage.

It would also be useful to connect your laptop to an HDTV and attempt to reproduce the issue. If the TV also displays the video issue along with the laptop display, it indicates a problem with the GPU, rather than the LVDS cable or laptop display.
