Interesting issue after repaste

Retired

Hello,
I repasted my GPU the other day, and now there is a new problem that I've never encountered before. Both times it happened I was watching video, one on youtube and another on VLC. There is no set definition on the time it happens because I was watching video for a good while when it happened both times. The screen goes black, then the audio from the video stops and then just starts making a buzzing noise from the speakers. Now this keeps going on and doesn't stop unless I hold the power button to shut off. Any ideas? Thanks for your input.

The system is freezing. Have you tried running something like Furmark to see if you can get a crash? If this happened after a re-paste it could be that some of the paste got where it doesn't belong or you installed the heatsink too tight or the process didn't go as planned and you're actually overheating. I had a new water block that I installed and the system wouldn't boot. After removing the block, cleaning up the excess paste, and reinstalling the block while being careful not to over tighten everything has been running great. I still don't know what was actually causing the problem. If you can duplicate the problem with Furmark then I'd re-do the card again.

I have been running furmark for over 30 minutes and no issues. The temp stays at a constant 75C. Not sure what was causing the issue.

Update your Adobe Flash, and if you are using a codec pack, update that too.
