Install on SSD with Install Stick

Right now I have a 1 Gb HDD that I use with the USB stick to install my Windows 8 *created with the USB Util rescue program)

Now I am getting a 500Gb SDD Drive *Samsung Evo 500Gb*
Would I still be able to use the stick, or do I manually need to install Windows 8 and all the drivers?
since it will create hidden partitions etc for Recovery disk etc..
and I don't know if it checks to see if there is a 1 Gb Drive...
I would like to keep my recovery etc, just in case I ever need it.

Thanks

You could always you Macrium reflect to clone you current disk to the new SSD. Many here have had great success with this program.

Does the Free version work for that, or do I need an upgraded version ?

Free version if good for 30 days

Made backup... but maybe I am stupid...
on the new SSD I need to install windows first then, and then restore it?
since it's only 1 file, and can't do anything else with it

ooh... wait... CLONE.... lol.... I have to wait then till I have the drive

what i did was used an oem install cd(or well iso for this laptop) that i got from a friend that works at geeksquad and just did a fresh install of windows on my msata and then just fomatted the previous C drive. So i had a msata while my 750 hdd still hadthe recovery partitions and what not. Worked out very well for me.

ok Got my SSD and used the Install stick and works great...
Everything seems to be fast.... running into 1 issue.
I have the Samsung SSD EVO 500gb and it seems that randomly when I start something
that it's freezing up for like 10-30 seconds..
The SSS is set to max performance.. so not sure why it's doing that.. Anyone seen this before?
