Inconsistent Wireless

I bought a new G750JX a couple weeks ago, and have been having trouble with wireless. First, when the laptop came, it turns out that there was not even a wireless driver installed (strange, but easy to fix for a techie like me). I managed to download one (I have tried both Broadcomm and Qualcomm, both seem to perform the same) using ethernet and install it. After installing it I noticed that quite often while browsing the internet, the connection would suddenly drop and come back. Performing a ping (1 second intervals) against google.com illustrates the issue:

I know it's my laptop and not my wireless because I am able to ping from other devices fine at the same time I receive no response from my G750JX. When connected to ethernet, I receive a consistent ping:

Like I said, I have tried a couple different drivers, and resetting my wireless, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I am about 10 feet from the router, so signal strength is not an issue. As you can see, when a packet does go through it is quick (in the 20ms range). I'm running Windows 8, which came installed with it.

Has anyone else had this issue? Could I have a bad wireless card? What else can I try to fix it and how can I determine the cause of the issue? Thanks.

how about getting another card from another laptop or from ebay (ultimate n 6300), try to see if it's that, or it's the antenna's which are not properly connected 🙂 (open it and try to see that)

What version of the drivers are you using? Asus has posted new drivers, under the G750 for 8.1 x86 - which might install on Windows 8 - why haven't you updated to 8.1?

So far all of these wireless issues have been cured by updating to the latest driver(s), without resorting to replacing the MiniPCI card 🙂

I just started experiencing very slow wireless connectivity in my month old 750JX and found this thread while seeking a solution. The drivers mentioned by hmscott are posted by Asus for the 750JW. Are they cross-compatible with the 750JX? My 750JX has the Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter and the Qualcomm Atheros AR8171-8175 PCI-E Ethernet Controller and I would like to use the 12/18/13 updated drivers if they are compatible. Thank you.

should work... i dont think they have two separate broadcom ac adapters between the 3 models... likley the same ac adapter between the jw and jx if its the same manufacturer you should be fine

I have an E slate I did a factory restore and I was having the same problem. was driving me nuts. tried everything you did with no luck. I then proceeded to redo the factory restore and now it fine and rock solid once again. I still cant tell you what the cause is but I think it had to do with a bad registry entry.

i am experiencing the same ****. Maybe diagnosing right but i am not sure. Try to download "inSSIDer Home".
This program can scanning in your area for other wifis. İf they are interfering your area or not. İts a furustrating thing.
Trust me i researched very likely. So according to program u can say i have clean "wifi channel" or not. İf not U should change it
from your router or modem. Unfortenately i am using iphone 4 hotspot which is cant change it but u can.(assuming i have bad wifi channel)

like this u should not use overlapp channels.

According to the inSSIDer 2.4Ghz view you are ok, not perfect, but ok. You might consider getting an external device from your wireless provider that you can tune the channel/width of your hotspot.

I have a G750JX also, in fact i just bought it few weeks ago and I'm kind of disappointed :(. I have the same, exact issue as "FireandIce", my router is just two steps away from my computer and i cant connect. Sometimes it receives internet about an hour, more or less, however it disconnects right away. Even if I reset the router, it doesn't changes at all. I have Windows 8.1 installed and up to date with any upgrades. I dont know whats the issue, any suggestions? :confused:
