Storage

Since I was having a problem playing some games (overwatch specficially) I decided to fresh install windows so as to remove all the bloatware that come's stock with the machine. I have all the latest graphics cards and chipset drivers, I have removed GameFirst and am still (at lowest possible settings) experiencing unplayable gameplay in Overwatch. I am getting no more than 30fps and it makes the game unbearable. I find it really hard to believe considering my PC I have upstairs runs on a GTX650 with i5 processor and playing games such as Overwatch and WoW I often get 50+ fps in medium settings. I've tried to limit background processes even though CPU usage hovers just under 5% whilst playing and with no other applications open. I've tweaked with in game settings to the enth degree and still nothing. Please help me! What am I doing wrong 😞 Laptop is brand spanking new FYI

You are running a 4K display on a 960M correct? I would expect at high settings the framerate would be low...

No i am running at 1080p

OK so this is a bit confusing 😮

So...at 1080p you should be doing better....any temperature issues?

The clean install go OK? You got the correct driver for your GPU? sometimes this is very laptop specific and is not the same as general driver...

Purely pragmatic...there is a laptop section you might post in...people there might be better able to help...https://rog.asus.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?60-G-Series-Gaming-Notebooks

Are you gaming with your laptop plugged into the wall?

Very valid point!
Laptops performance suffers tremendously when not plugged in.

Example on my G752VY when plugged in the Firestrike score is just over 9K, Pull the plug and that gets cut in half.
