I bought this kit and installed it with only one big problem. After installing the drivers from intel, my laptop recognize it, but it doesn't work. When I go to device manager I see it but with exclamation mark. I tried reinstalling the drivers but no luck.

I put back my old wireless adapter 😞

Any help would be appreciated. thank you ❤️

Yes, the 6300 is definitely a great upgrade even with just the 2 antenna's. I am only interested in the 3rd antenna because I do have a router that supports it. (Asus RT-N56U router)

Not a lot of info that I can find with the G74sx and Bigfoot 1102 or 1103 cards. I guess the 6300 would still be the best option.

Cheers!

Intel WLAN cards are sort of like Synaptic touchpads....they've been around a long time, both the hardware and software are well-developed and refined, and most importantly, they just work. Seems like most of the time that people have problems with these basic hardware devices, it's when manufacturers go cheap and use some off-brand or start-up.

i thought the third antenna helped with distance and signal strength issues.

personally i'm curious if it's a upgrade from a intel 5100 card.

It's an upgrade in that it has additional capabilities, I suppose. The 5100 was a n-card that could use up to two spatial streams, making it theoretically capable of up to 300Mbps. The 6300 can use up to three spatial streams, yielding up to 450Mbps in the appropriate network environment. Most of us aren't using that capability...yet. 😉

I wonder if the OP ever got his card working? I just got my 6300 in the mail and am going to install later, it would be nice to know what happened...

Like other Intel WLAN cards, they are very stable and reliable. Of course there's always the possibility of getting a defective unit (one owner here just did), but you shouldn't have any problems getting up & running with it. I use these cards in my laptops...never had a problem with any of them.

Cool thanks, just out of curiosity does it matter which antennae wires you hook up where, since there are three antennae and only two wires?

Use posts 1 & 2, which are the ones on the outside. Leave the middle one empty.

This card is the 6300:
