How is the G75VX so far?

I've always wanted the Asus G-series notebook. Wanted the G53 back then but could not afford it. Then same goes for the G74 and same for the G75vw. Now, the G75VX has come out.

I checked out the specs for the G75VX and the only noticeable things are (base configuration) Win 8, i7 3630qm, and the GTX 670MX.

Things that interest me are the cpu and gpu compared to older G75 as they are a better. The CPU is slightly clocked faster and the GPU has similar or better performance to the previous 670m but runs much cooler now that it's built on a kepler.

Things holding me back from purchasing it currently is GPU problems I've read on the forums. One thing I keep reading about is driver issues with the Asus custom mod GTX 670MX. Will not having the latest driver be a problem for running certain games or programs such as 3ds Max, Blender, Maya, and the Adobe CS6 (ones that use the gpu to render)?

If driver is not needed then I'm cool with it.

Are there any problems with the G75VX that should be addressed other than mentioned?

Does it still have that audio bug which came with the previous G75VW models? Did the speakers improved? How is the cooling system now with the GPU compared to previous G75VW models? Is the keyboard better? etc? Please inform!

Currently Tigerdirect (place I'm going to purchase it) has the G75VX on sale for $1399.99 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7708024&CatId=3998

Dunno about that.. Only seen some with 3 years. Anyways, I'm sure whatever he picks it will work just fine 🙂

I was completely gobsmacked when I had my first laptop ever the G75VX after almost 18 years using a desktop computers, I've took a huge and scary jump from XP Pro for almost 11 years to W8 Pro. I got myself tired and had enough of desktop computers after moving so much since my desktop was getting heavy for me carried, because with a disability it make it hard for me to carry when I need something to upgrade or changing parts when something is worn-out so I've decided to get myself a laptop the ASUS G75VX for the first time.

The ASUS G75VX what can I say..........I'm in love like a holy grail it's easy to carried and it very powerful and bloody fast using W8 Pro, I had to spend an extra $1000 to upgrade from 1TB HD+256GB SDD to 2 Intel 520 SSD 480GB and the rest of the hardware was never change so I'm very happy what I've bought and I've always buy ASUS product because it the best and most trusted brand to buy world wide. ASUS had rock my world today and I'm loving my very first G75VX laptop ever after many years using a desktop computers, I strongly thanks to ASUS on a fantastic job with the G75VX model I've every bought and I've had no major problems so far thank you for make my life easy while enjoying playing hardcore war games.
