How is the g75vw THAT outdated for 'Watch Dogs' game?

I have a g75vw with a 670m gpu. I did the test on nvidia's website to see how well I would be able to run Watch Dogs. It told me my gpu didn't even reach minimum requirements. I have never played a game that this gpu couldn't handle on Ultra or custom settings.(on rare occasions I've had to have all settings set to ultra and shadow set to high or very high if available). Is Watch Dogs really that massive of a leap in graphics or is nvidia just trying to sell new cards? This leaves me a little sad as apparently you can't upgrade the gpu in a g75. I really don't want to get this for PS4 but don't see much of a choice at the moment.

I don't think you will have any issue running this game, maybe not on maxed settings.

PS: With a little tweaking, and a little OC you should get better game play on higher settings.
Best of luck, and welcome to the forum.

That's what I thought. Except people keep telling me that the mobile 670 is nowhere near equal to the desktop 460. Is that true? Its hard to find a non biased answer on the steam forums. (there seems to be an irrational hatred of laptops there).

Nope the GTX 460M is a class 2 card, and the GTX 670M is a class 1 card.
670m is a better card, check this Bench list
(460M is under class 2)>>NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-670M

The GTX 670M is like 3 categories below the GTX 560 Ti just so you have an idea. You could probably play the game with Normal to medium settings.

It would be nice if there was some kind of free trial download of 'Watch Dogs' available to try before you buy, but not sure if anything like that is available.

Yes, your G75VW is somewhere in middle of the minimum, and recommended gfx cards.
So don't expect high FPS on any setting above "medium settings", you will need to OC for better FPS.
You will need to lower shaders, and antialiasing , and any other graphic intensive settings way down, or even set to off.
But you should be able to play the game, just not with all the eye candy.

PS: That's why I'm looking to upgrade to a G750JZ, my G75VW is a little out dated, as you said yours too!
The GTX 880M should handle this game with out a problem.

BTW, talking about performance, any of you know when Directx 12 is coming out, and what kind of support it will have for the 600 mobile series? I liked how they focused on performance this time :P.
