How I could do a clean install of windows 8

Hello guys.

I have just finished a clean install of windows 8 SUCCESSFULLY 😄

As it took me too much reading and time, I want to share with you what I've done. When I set up the G75 and get it ready to use, I will edit this with more details.

Ok, the step by step:

First, you will need a Windows media. I mean, a DVD or a pendrive. Maybe you can use something more but I don't know how to.

1.- Start the computer, and let windows start.
2.- Press Win+C to open the side bar.
3.- Click on Settings
4.- Click on Change PC Settings (it's not an icon, read the bar)
5.- Open "General" tab
6.- Look for "Advanced start-up" (the last one), and click on "Restart now"
7.- Wait until open, and then choose "Troubleshoot"
8.- Choose "Reset your PC"
10.- Click on "Next"

Be sure to have the Windows media inserted.
It will reset. When it starts again...... WAIT! Please read this and the next paragraph before click on something now.... choose whatever option you prefer. I chose All Drives to be sure.

And now, go for a coffee because it will take some hours. I didn't check how much, but maybe more than 2 hours. It will reset again when finishes the proccess, and I think one more time. Done that, it will ask you to set the user preferences as language, color, user id, etc etc.
.... perhaps if you choose just one drive takes less time.

And that's all! You will have the Windows with a clean install.

Comments:
* Sorry if I miss any step. I'm doing this with the G75 beside me but now I will not start the installation again, and I didn't know it would work when I began hehe. Just ask me if something didn't work.

* It's strange to me to do a clean install from the same program I will install. I mean, with every OS, when I wanted a clean install of it, I booted from the DVD, format the partition, and started the installation. Now it was different, at least in my case.

* I hope you understand my English XD

Yep. I've read that sticky, but it didn't help me. I mean, it couldn't resolve my problem... I couldn't make the installation booting from the media (both DVD or pendrive). It boots, but when asking the partition, it says (Windows cannot be installed to the disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style).

I made this post just to have another option of installation... no bios changes, no cmd, no create or modify anything... just some clicks.

Yes in the sticky there is a section the explains how to make your USB or DVD UEFI GPT bootable and installable. You can't install to a GPT disk with out the proper set up of your USB drive or DVD.

Ok, I'll check it later. Thanks 😃
Now the only thing that last to me, is to change the "interface of the BIOS" and learn about that as it's something completely new to me.

The stock interface is UEFI GPT, with these G Series NB the interface looks just the same as the old BIOS looked. It is possible to convert back to NTFS but once you do, you can not go back to GPT with out a complete Clean, format and clean install of OS.
