How do I configure Nvidia 3D Vision for my G75VW?

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to play games in 3D on my G75VW laptop using Nvidia 3D vision but it does not seem to be working. At first I tried using just my laptop monitor but it was not working and I read some where that the monitor is actually not 3D capable because of the refresh rate. (Any truth to this?) So that was disappointing, luckily I have a 3D capable TV. So I hooked up my TV http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045TZF66/ref=oh_details_o01_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 using an HDMI cord and I clicked "Enable 3D Vision" on my computer and started the configuration. I got to the part where you have to close your left eye then right eye (with the glasses on) and I am assuming at this point you see the circle in one eye and the triangle in the other. After I press the Nvidia symbol on the IR emitter, I just see blue triangles out of both eyes (while the other is closed of course). Does anybody know what I am doing wrong? Is my laptop or TV not Nvidia 3D Vision capable? Thanks for any help, guys, it is much appreciated!

hi @drexracer, please check out this thread. i think there are some information that you need in that thread.

Wow, that is a short list of TV's compatible with Nvidia 3D Vision.. and mine is not on it. And my laptop is not 3D ready. Well, this is certainly news, unfortunately it is of the bad type. Superb. Any recommendations on compatible monitors or TV's?

i am not sure about this. it might have something to do with the 'connection type'; emtter; and if you used hdmi your external display should meet the required version.

sorry i do not have 3d display. my laptop is 3d ready; but it's out of question.

I don't think it'll work with that TV because it uses an emulated refresh rate.

**I see mention of the 3D emitter so I assume you already have this

You'll need this kit to even attempt to get it working: http://www.nvidia.com/object/product-geforce-3d-vision2-wireless-glasses-kit-us.html

Be sure to connect using a HDMI 1.4a cable to connect to the TV to properly drive the 3D.
