Hibernate issues

My G74 keeps going into hibernation mode even though it’s set not to. But even worse about 2 out of 5 times when I touch the keys to "wake" it up, the key board lights up but the screen stays off. If I hit fn+f7 nothing happens and if I hit the power button still nothing. It seems like its freezing in the middle of waking up.

Any thoughts? This thing is too expensive and too new for this stuff to be happening.

Also overall the laptops been crazy slow. It takes forever to boot up and to load programs. And there's even a delay when saving pics.

Hi

Is this a new issue that you have experienced lately? If so try to use restore you're notebook to an earlier point when it worked 🙂

Since you got some issues, you could try out CCleaner and run the register check (run it until it doesn't find any more useless registers and cleans you're notebook)

One question though, how old is you're notebook and what have you done (overall update, hardware and so on) ?

I got it in Dec I believe. Ive done all the recomended updates and drivers from this forum but the last one was over a month ago. All Ive installed recently are a couple different media players, Microsoft Office, Open Office and windows does its own updates which im a little uneasy about. The problem just started about a week and a half ago.

Okey, so you're saying you also did a clean install of you're notebook, or did you uninstall all bloatware and installed updates right from the preinstalled factory installation?

The company I bought it from did the install I never did reinstalled windows. Ive gotten rid of some bloatware on my own but Im limited to what I know is bloatware. I also installed and ran that CCleaner you gave me.

If you want to do a reinstall to factory restore (or clean install) you can do that, then all changes you have done will get away and the issues.

About the bloatware take a look at this site. In that forum it is well summarized so it would be easy for you to choose which programs you want to have.

And @Brodyboy got his list about which drivers you need and nothing else (except those you choose to stay):

Intel chipset
Intel RST
Intel MEI
nVidia graphics
Realtek audio
Realtek cardreader
Realtek LAN
Atheros or Intel WLAN (and BT, if resent and needed)
Fresco USB 3.0
ATK Package
Touchpad drivers

Did CCleaner do any changes on you're system or do you still haveing issues ?

1) What Antivirus, AntiMalware, Firewall, and Remote Access software have you installed to this system?

2) What version NVIDIA driver are you running?

3) I recommend installing one of the following - SpeedFan, HWINFO64, or RealTemp, and logging CPU and GPU temperatures. It would be good to confirm you do not have an overheating issue.

4) I also recommend running a CHKDSK C: /F /R to confirm your file system is sound.

5) I'm also suspicious of your power supply. If you unplug your system and remove the battery, can you plug in only with the power adapter and boot up and run this system?
