Help pls: GL752VW's screen is a TN display, not IPS?! (Per Amazon user's review.)

Hi I am not a gamer, only have limited knowledge of computer technology, and am buying this computer mainly because of the IPS display. It will be used for photo editing/display. I placed order with B&H but have just cancelled it because a user on Amazon posted that the screen is actually TN display: CMN N173HGE-E11.

The reviewer (Amazon Customer) posted a picture of AIDA64 summary that shows the above display, which is a TN panel. He mentioned HWiNFO reported the same info. http://www.amazon.com/GL752VW-DH71-17-Inch-Discrete-GeForce-Metallic/product-reviews/B01578ZK9A/ref=...

My questions please:
1. Could anyone here confirm that the info above is correct? That this is indeed NOT an IPS panel?
2. I would like to believe the above convincing evidence, but how could ASUS makes such a significant error in advertising?

Thanks in advance.

I have just received confirmation by ASUS Support that the screen on GL752VW is most definitely **NOT** IPS. Apparently they are working to delete all IPS advertisements.

Unbelievable mistake/oversight on the part of ASUS. I feel sorry for those who bought this computer thinking it has IPS.

G751 here I come - unfortunately while waiting for the above confirmation I have missed out on the $988 sale on Amazon for the G751. I think Newegg has the same deal still on going though.

I was at MicroCenter yesterday looking at the GL552VW, and it definitely had an IPS screen. There was a GL752VW next to it, and I don't recall it looking that much different in terms brightness, but didn't look too closely. Are the two models supposed to be similar except for the screen size?

BTW, full quote from ASUS Support below. I do not know if there is such a sub-class of TN panel called "Wide View" or if this is just more marketing pitch from Asus though.

I have finally received information from headquarters and it would appear
that it does NOT have an ips screen but wv (wide view). So they are now
working with marketing to fix this advertisement. Thank you so much for
your patience and cooperation in this fix. I hope this at least helps you
with your decision on what laptop to purchase. Sorry for the
inconvenience.

For those who want to buy instead G751JLWH71(WX), which does have IPS panel, Newegg Flash is extending its Cyber Monday Sale and has the lowest price that I've seen for G751JL ($989 & free shipping). There is also a special for 3 month Premier Membership free, which allows you to return free of shipping charge and without re-stocking fee, IIRC.

Regarding GL552VW, there is a fairly detailed review here that does seem to indicate the panel is IPS: http://www.ultrabookreview.com/8975-asus-rog-gl552vw-review/

Lastly I have read that the touch screen feature makes IPS panel more glossy (you could see this in ASUS touch screen model at Best Buy G751JL-BBI7T29), so for the best quality matte display, IPS non-touch is still king.
