It appears to be compatible, but as to whether it's a direct/identical replacement or not I don't know off hand. You can check out which monitor you have by downloading and installing HWiNFO64. When you run it, the system details window will be able to tell you which monitor you have.
As for the second thing: click on 'Settings,' then 'Edit Avatar,' and use 'Browse' to select a file from your computer (there are limitations as to what you can upload). Make sure the "Use custom avatar" radio button is selected, also, then select Save Changes. 🙂

I can't really use my laptop now because the screen is so messed up, so I won't be able to download HWiNFO64. I found this which is for the specific model G750JS. $80 isn't too outrageous I suppose.
$200 isn't worth it to me for a replacement top cover. I can live with how it is currently.
For the avatar, I don't have what you have in my Settings. All I have is the "Do Not Use Custom Avatar" selected and that's the only button to select, thus making it impossible to select any other option because there isn't one. Perhaps I need to have a certain amount of posts or something?
