If you don't plan to move it around a lot; Then G751 would be an excellent choice - But if you can afford it, you really should consider the JT over the JM model.

I don't know pricedifference in your country.. But it's a really strong GPU which will serve you well 🙂

A Little sidenote: I carry my G75VX (17'3 inch) with me a lot - It's actually not that heavy once you get use to the weight.

Im already extending the budget for the g751jm but i would would love the JT but in Portugal the prices are really high. But its good too hear that the weight isnt really that much of a problem 🙂

Just get a good backpack and it won't be a problem 🙂

I just placed a order for this one - It's super cheap compared to many other backpacks and offers the same amount of space inside.

I tried to use a G55VW at university for a while, but battery life was killer - I even carried an extra battery.

Now I have an old Dell I refurbished, and I remote connect to my big desktop when I need to do anything intense - I got rid of the RoG laptop.

I did love playing games on that thing, though.

A lof has happend to the G-series over the past years.

Even tho my G75VX is close to 2 years old, the battery still last for 3-4 hours if I'm just typing and nothing else. However, gaming drains it aftr just 30mins 🙂

Battery and performance just doesn't go hand in hand it seems.

I would say that 3 or 4 hours on a charge is acceptable - my G55VW only saw about 1:45 to 2:00 of battery life, even running only a word processor and a few instances of Chrome or Firefox.

Definitely get a backpack - unless those things have become lighter in the last year haha.

Gaming laptops are good for CS majors because they can run complicated program at high speeds.

I usually buy them based on specs. The problem with the g751 is the big 17-inch size, depends on your preference.
