hardware issues, can't find warranty status

The optical drive on my G75 has stopped working and, although I'm certain I've registered this computer before with support, it is not showing up when I login. Trying to reregister returns a message that the serial number is already registered. While trying to get back into my support account, I had to reset my information from Taiwan back to US info.

What should be my next step?

Well your account would have been set up using a e-mail address and password it you can't remember your password I think they will send you a password reset to the email you used to register your notebook. If this goes back far enough you could have used a user ID rather than a email address still they can sent a reset to that email address you used filling out your profile while registering ????
If you bought this NB from someone else, if they didn't give you this information you may just be screwed. Replacement DVD/CD/BD replacement drives are cheap on ebay.
Also you might pm cl-albert he is our Customer loyalty representative here in this forum perhaps he can help with the move from over seas to the US with your support account?

usually NB are global warranry, you can call hotline to get corrct warranty type and send to service to replace DVD.

well, that's one of the irritating things is that both this G75 and my G74 I've registered previously in some Asus portal but it appears that some sort of account consolidation has been done between the various Asus services and now my account has been fluxored...

If you're in the U.S., suggest just contacting U.S. ASUS support at this page if you're still under warranty to request the RMA: http://www.service.asus.com/#!consumer/csn9

Let us know if you run into any problems, but have your notebook serial number ready and a copy of the invoice available if possible should it be required for warranty verification.

Don't believe your account registration will make much difference for U.S. warranty service (although local Accidental Protection warranty for select notebooks purchased in the U.S. and Canada must be registered within 60 days of purchase, but this is different from the standard warranty you appear to be seeking), so just contact and check with ASUS support if necessary.

Good luck!
