Hard drive upgrade and HDD caddy - 1TB Samsung 840 EVO SSD

I bought the Asus G750JX 3D version a while ago but I my laptop drives are always filled up. I have the 256GB SSD and a 1TB 5400rpm one, neither of these have more than a few gigabytes of space left.

I was thinking about purchasing the Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD and perhaps use the HDD caddy I bought to add another 1TB of storage with a 7200rpm or 5400rpm drive but I had a few questions.

Is there a difference in performance for a SSD or any other type of drive when inserted into a HDD caddy instead of a hard drive bay? What's the connection with a HDD caddy, is it Sata III?

There's 2 different versions of the Samsung 840 EVO SSD, a mSata one and a Sata III one. Do both of these fit the Asus G750 laptops?

And has anyone installed a HDD caddy in their ASUS G750 laptop before? I tried getting my optical drive out but the screw seemed to be unturnable. I didn't go any further as I didn't want to break anything.

Final question: Would you take a 7200rpm drive over a 5400rpm any day and is a 7200rpm drive really as noisy as people claim it to be?

Why not use the MSata port? Think you can have 2 if you remove the CD/DVD?
1GB SSD is going to be pricey, cant you shift any of it off the local drives?

I only have 1X 1TB drive and the speed of this 5400rpm one is awfully slow. That's why I wanted to go with a 1TB SSD drive. I am not very familiar with upgrading so I wouldn't know where to start looking for this mSata connection 😛

Ive been thinking on getting a 2nd set of the 128ssd's that are in the JH model. 4x128GB in raid0 would be beast mode. anyone know where I can get replace these drives? If I upgraded the 1tb to an SSD, would I be able to 3x128gb Raid0 config ?
