GPU Overheating? Game shutting down

Hi

I have been playing games on my laptop no problem since I got it. Recently I have been playing a game and the game has started shutting down. My screen goes black and it goes to the windows login screen. Like its going into standby mode. I was checking the GPU temps and its reaching 96 max. I think the reason the laptop is doing this is because of the high GPU temps as it seems to be fine before hitting these temps.

Could a fan have broken? Does the G75vw have 1 or 2 GPU fans? It has the 670m inside. Is there a way I can check to see if the GPU fans are working at full capacity?

Use HWiNFO to monitor temp for both CPU and GPU realtime,

I already know the temps are getting too high though as I already use an application for that.

Well does this other App tell you what your GPU Fan Speed is? Your GPU Fab should Idle at about 2000 RPM and wind up as the GPU heats up to about 3600 RPM
Sounds pretty much like your GPU pasting has defected. However you should remove the covers on the bottom and use some canned air to blow the dust out of the Fans and heat sinks. Use a pencil or other device to prevent over revving your Fans. If this doesn't help it probably mean you'll need to/or have your GPU repasted.
if your GPU is getting over the low 80's you have a problem. Gaming shouldn't run it over the low 70's
