hi guys got the g751jy. temp under normal use is around 40-42 but when having bf3 on ultra goes to 80-83 degrees Celsius.

You have lots of threads in here to search for solutions. The main solutions are : Underclocking, Undervolting and using NotebookFanControl (NBFC) to change the CPU fan profile. Just search for these and you'll find enough information.

@Boxis: you got really high temps.. i played the same game as you are playing on same settings and on a 28c RoomTemp, I never reached 80c, and i played for 8hrs or more. I never done any tweaks with fanspeed and volts, still on default settings. its a little wierd that most of the temp problems came on later batches.

Are you sure your fps is not capped constantly at 60/75 ? If your GPU is at full load for a few hours and you ha
ve under 80°C then you have really good cooling, gratz ! 🙂

Anyway there are some screens before an after, captured after around 2 hours of gaming.

Hi, i only cap it, if my roomtemp reaches more than 25c, but my ave GPU temp on full load is 70-78c i never reach 80, maybe i just got lucky with the batch.. only problem is my speakers are still crappy even thou i updated the driver and fix the settings.. 😄 maybe thats the drawback.. hehehehe

Well, in my posts I was talking all the time about CPU temps because GPU temps are not really a problem in our laptops in like 99% cases 😄 . I was just saying that when GPU is going at max speed (having 98% load) that it affects CPU temps significantly, thats why some of us did not have good CPU temps when under load. Check your CPU temps please if you can without vsync.

@Akik82 - You have good temps, nothing to worry about. But if you want them to be even lower you can check https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?58501-Making-of-quot-Official-NotebookFanControl-G751JY-Pr... . This should help you reduce temps quite a lot.

Ok will try that.. but last time i played black flag in ultra.. vsync off- i still havn't reach more than 80c.. my max temp is 78c on cpu.. 65c on gpu.. ill try other games.. and see if temp reaches more..

I'm borrowing one this week. List the benchies you want. Bear in mind that SSD/memory will change between SKU, so PCMark results in particular will differ.

3dmark - Cloud Gate, Sky Diver, Fire Strike, Ice Storm

3dmark11

3dmark Vantage

PCMark Vantage

PCMark 7

3DMark06

Thanks for the results ekko!

Marshall, please include as many gaming benchmark results as you can, Furmark results, Cinemark r15 results, Unigine Heaven results, and whatever Asus uses normally for benchmarking 🙂

Thanks Marshall!

I have a question (sorry if it has already been answered) : do the G751 series also have OPTIMUS ?????

also, how is the IPS screen ? I read several times that these screens have sometimes an "image retention" (or ghost) effect.
like : when you had a static image for a long time on screen, and then change to an uniform background, you see for a limited time a "ghost image" of the previous image.

This is my very first Asus laptop. I purchased the ROG G751-JT. I am very pleased with the performance and graphics. However, I am worried I may have a faulty subwoofer. I have nothing to compare it to, but I only have the speakers under the screen that are working. There is no bass to complement the front speakers. I am disappointed.

Hi Marshall

Do you have some geekbench scores for the G751 ? ( preferably Geekbench score when you have 32 gb of ram , as the more ram you have the higher ggeekbench is )
