G771JM does not detect m.2 hard drive

I have understood that my old laptop does not work with nvme disks, therefore have bought a SATA m.2 disk. But the computer doesn't recognize it at all. Neither in the BIOS nor in the disc manager. Have updated to the latest BIOS but refuses to find the disk. Before I return the disk, I just want to double check in case I'm missing something obvious... I turned off the computer, took out the battery, opened the door, put in the disk, screwed it in, put the door and battery back in, turned it on and found that it didn't was found. Tried pulling out the other two hard drives I have but the same result.

The disc is this 512Gb: http://teamgroupinc.com/en/product/ms30

Buy a Kingston Renegade Fury NVMe and works great.
