G771 black screen

Last week I got a g771 and got it home, it booted a couple of times but after I got it to boot from DVD the screen went dark. Got it replaced and today did the exact same thing and it went black again. The keyboard is lit and the computer is running but there's nothing on the screen, not even the backlight.

I had a similar problem. I updated the BIOS to the most recent and turned off fast boot in the BIOS and so far haven't had the problem again.

This is a common problem, it's a matter of luck if your laptop will boot or not. I tried every BIOS out there! Never buying an ASUS laptop again!
