G75VX Sound issue PLZ help

Greetings. Brand new G75vx just got it 2 weeks ago or so, fresh install of windows 8. Problem is audio will only play through the internal speakers when headphones are plugged into the jack. When i insert headphones into the jack says i just unplugged a device from the audio jack. At this point it is playing audio from the internal speakers as well as the headphones. When I remove the headphones from the jack I get message saying I just plugged a device into the audio jack and no sound coming from internal speakers. Tried uninstall audio devices and reinstall no luck, checked playback devices and made sure default device was realtek speakers. This is aggravating me, please and thank you to any responses. Additionally I still have original windows 8 install that came on this computer (i threw a ssd in and did fresh install) and booted into that one to see if sound would work and same issue. Any help is appreciated.

When this happen with our VW's VIA updated drivers solved it. I have no idea about the Realtek audio, but you might try updating the Audio Drivers. You don't mention installing the Realtek drivers? you should be able to download from Asus download for your model and OS. The windows default audio driver may not be good enough for your NB

please download new version (V6.0.1.6818) from asus support site and try again.

Eh reinstalled newest driver from realtek site (6.0.1.6873). When you install driver it uninstalls old driver first, then a reboot. After the reboot it begins installing new driver--when it rebooted heard windows startup sound and could play sound through youtube and such internal speakers were working. When the driver is installed it reboots again, and at that point there is no sound coming from internal speakers unless headphones plugged into jack. I rolled it back to the driver on ASUS site and same thing happened, uninstall driver-reboot sound working-installing new driver and on that next reboot no sound. I checked out the device manager when the sound was working and it just has it listed in there as High Definition Audio device (also in volume options there is no option to control the sub-woofer).

Eh starting to think the headphone jack is damaged. When you plug a device into jack it should not tell you that you just UNPLUGGED a device and likewise when unplugging a device shouldnt say you just PLUGGED a device in. Just for ****s I plugged phones into the mic jack and sure enough sound works from internal speakers when its plugged in there too. Was contemplating taking it back and exchanging it...hopefully they will bought it on 6/13 and there is 15 day return policy. 15 days has elapsed if they include the purchase date hopefully they dont lol. Pain in me ass just set this up, and dont really wanna take out ssd and install that **** all over again.

Much better than a RMA To Repair station.

EH so after much research. When you insert headphones into the jack it hits a pin and this makes it so speakers are disengaged. Apparently I broke this pin or it would just not come back into place after headphones were removed. Search for stereo sense pin or something along those lines its a common problem in laptops---be wary of plugging you headphones into jack if you care about the internal speakers. I ended up exchanging my g75vx for g750jw cause they had no more vx's. Asus still not fix subwoofer issue, the keyboard is more distance from the front of the laptop---lil less comfortable when typing, no more soft finish its all smooth plastic. Time will tell tho.
