G75vx intel RAID

HI, I've heard that the RAID technology gives the fastest transfer rates for hard disks.
Also the chipset in the g75vx is supposed to be compatible with it. When i opened the boot options
SATA config menu it shows that i'm using AHCI instead of RAID.WIll I lose data if i change it now.
Any information will be appreciated.

Yes, when you create a RAID array (BTW you need 2 HDDs to run a RAID if you haven't done your research into RAID yet), all the data on the HDDs included into the RAID array are wiped.

Yup. I have 2 HDDs. Any way to avoid losing the data though?

I have a single hard drive in my laptop. Using the RAID boot option over AHCI resulted in faster Read/Write speeds quite significantly. So I have to agree with you on this.

It wont boot after you change it. At least it wouldn't for me. I had to do a clean install after changing the boot option from AHCI to RAID
