G75VW left side USB 3.0 not working

Hello guys...I've searched a lot of forums for my issue but did not find a solution. Maybe someone here can help me.

The left USB ports are working properly only with 2.0 devices. If I plug in 3.0 devices such as flashdrives or external HDDs they do not work. After I plug in the hardware, it does not happen anything or the Connect/Disconnect Windows sound plays an infinite loop. If I restart the laptop with the USB 3.0 flashdrive plugged in, it works as it should (only in one of the ports - for the other one, there is an infinite loof of connect/disconnect sound). I've tried reinstalling the drivers, installing Charger+ but no result at all. I had the same problem on Windows 8. My laptop is still under warranty but I'm not sure this is a H/W issue. The right side ports work flawlessly.

Yes, suggest contacting your local ASUS support to check what they suggest and find out if they want you to send it in for service to solve this while you're still under warranty.
The software/drivers are the same for the left and right USB 3.0 ports, so if the right USB 3.0 ports work fine, the software should be fine for both sides.

Although I'm located in the U.S., if your local ASUS support is not sure how to fix this, or can't find a problem, please send me a message at cl-Albert and I'll try to ask someone to keep an eye on it (not sure how well this will work, but I can try).

Also, if possible, please let us know how this turns out since others will probably be interested. Thanks.

I've seen that I'm not the only one with this type of issue...and for G55 and G75 it's the left side the problematic one. Although, it seems that it isn't only asus that has this type of problem. Asus support suggested to RMA the device, but i'm still hoping that I can fix it...I can't understand why 2.0 devices would work and 3.0 wouldn't - they are the same ports. Found some outdated drivers...updated with V9.3.0.1021 from Intel but still no luck....I'll leave the RMA as a last option because last time (faulty battery and screen bleeding) I had to wait two weeks to take it back.

plugged in the 3.0 HDD, went to windows event viewer and found a bunch of errors:
"An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\DR17 during a paging operation." about 50 times
"The IO operation at logical block address 5f40 for Disk 2 (PDO name: \Device\000000c2) was retried." - 1 time
"The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur in VolumeId: SAMSUNG, DeviceName: \Device\HarddiskVolume20." - 1 time

Left side ports are on a daughter board. If none of the fixes in this forum don't fix it you'll have to RMA it. The Main problems were the Asus Charger Plus software, Use the latest Intel USB 3.0 driver. If your on win 8 the usb 3 driver is native to windows. I'm not having any problems using that driver so haven't looked into if Intel wrote a driver for Win 8, I don't think so.

Yeah, I'm starting to believe it's a hardware issue. Managed to fool Win 8.1 to install the latest USB 3.0 driver from the intel website, but the problem is still here. I'll RMA its a** next week and let you guys know how all works out. I'm starting to have regrets regarding ROG hardware - it's the second RMA in one month. (the firs RMA replaced the battery and the LCD panel).

Damm, your not having much luck at all, PM cl-albert he can help things move along through the service center. CL= Asus customer loyalty Rep for this forum.

So Intel has put out a USB 3.0 driver for windows 8 or 8.1?

Back with an update guys: yesterday I took it to the service center. Today I checked it's status on the web and there it says "FAULTY COMPONENT". Doesn't say if the daughterboard or the motherboard. Hope to get it back soon. Will post after I get it back....so, if you experience the same problem as me, it's probably a hardware issue.

So my laptop is still in service..almost two weeks and the part was not received by the service centre. Worst products ever..last time i bough asus. Never again! $3,000 to have it in service almost one month in less than a year. Rubbish products
