G75VW GPU Temperature?

Hello all,

I've had my G75VW for 1½ or so, always cleaned the fans as advised.

Currently I'm in a few betas for newer games, struck me suddenly getting 6-7 fps.

Also the fan is more audible when idle than it used to be, I just checked the temps for the system while in one of the games.

Lowest monitored is 62 C (143 F)
Current is 72 C (161 F) just came out of the game 5 minutes ago
Max while in game 101 C (213 F)

Can this really be right?

CPU max recorded at 78 C (172 F)

Thanks in advance.

Yes it is possible is the pasting of your GPU is failing. I would run Furmark and verify that your GPU is getting high. My Ambient Temp is 24C and my GPU is 36C. Furmark 15 minute burn in test full screen 1080 it takes 7 minutes to get to 83C then for the remaining time it will fluctuate 80C to 83C, I only hear my fans running when they are running all out. You could be just having a fan failure or pasting failure. Hopefully your still in your warranty period

Just downloaded and tried.

Takes less than a minute for my GPU to hit 100 C then it starts throttling to between -400 and -500 mhz

I take it dust alone is not enough to produce this result?

Well you could blow it out if you have air pressure available? but it don't sound promising

I actually have air pressure here, but I'm unsure about how to blow it out.

Do I just remove the backplates and blow air that way or?

Thanks

Yea that what I do, I use a pencil to prevent over revving the Fan, also if you look at you ports USB etc you'll find they need a little blowing out too. I do this every month or so, we have a lot of dust in the air here.

You can check out this video to see how everything is Laid out you should only have to remove the two covers

Thanks C.,

I actually didn't have any pressurized air anyway. But I took the plates off anyway, and blew with my mouth 😄 from the outside and into the ventilation.. a whole lot of dust came out, i'll probably get some canned air next week to clean it properly.

BUT, I just did another run in furmark. At the end max temp was 86 C which is 15 C lower than before after 1 min and no throttling happend.

So I guess dust really could mess it up that bad, probably get better with real pressurized air 🙂

Thanks for your help.
