G75vw-DH72 will not charge

Hi All,

I was hoping someone could provide some insight into the problem I am having. I was using my G75 recently, plugged in, working fine, and then it lost power to the power supply. At first glance i thought my power brick had died. So I bought a new one on amazon, http://www.amazon.com/G46vw-bhi5n43-G46vw-bsi5n06-G75vx-t4020h-G750jh-db71-G750jw-bbi7n05/dp/B00GDGX... but this power supply did not charge my pc either. So now I am thinking either the motherboard is broken, the power supply i bought wasn't compatible (even thought it said it was) or perhaps the power pin went faulty. I am just outside of my warranty so I would need to get it repaired or do it myself.

Anyone have any experience with this problem or suggestions on what i should do next?

Sounds like you may just have a bad battery? If the computer runs with the power supply then most likely its the battery that is the fault.

The computer completely dies when i pull the battery out, as its not getting any power from the power adapter at all.

Well if the battery is comply dead that is what would happen. you won't know for sure until you either test your battery on someone elses similar Notebook or Replace the battery or RMA the unit for trouble shooting
What you describe is a dead battery, this could be a defective battery or a defective Motherboard, You might be able to locate a battery dealer near you they could possible test your battery to see if it is just discharge or defective? Some on near you that has a G55 you could also troubleshoot. Maybe a Dealer near you would help you out. I battery can be replaced. If the Motherboard is bad you'll have to take it to a repair station or RMA.
