G75VW-BBK5 Samsung 850 Pro SSD 256GB

Hi! This is my first thread that I post on this forum. I bought a new Samsung 850 Pro SSD 256GB and cloned my old hard drive (Seagate 1TB) to the new SSD and moved all my large files to the SSD except for the OS and some programs that I use frequently. The thing is that I wasn't so impressed by the boot time (around 30 seconds) in Windows 7. Also, I have the SATA configuration on AHCI and the SSD is optimized by Samsung Magician. I've seen other SSDs boot up Win7 for 10-15 seconds. If someone has an idea of whats happening to my boot up performance, I'd appreciate it. Also, computer's usage performance is pretty fast, my only concern is the boot time. Thanks in advance!

Give it a week or so, prefects will get things in order. Also how fast are you booting to you Signin compared to your desktop loading an having full control of your mouse?

I'm running classic Shell, and I have several program starting up at start up this slows down. Really slow is 8 gadget, that alone probably take 15 seconds. . Look in your startup and see what you can do with out at startup.

It takes around 25-30 seconds to get to the login screen, then it goes fast to the desktop. I don't have too much programs for startup so as soon as it gets to the desktop I'm able to open any program fast. My only concern is that the 850 being the fastest SSD and I can't get a 10-15 second boot.

If you want 10 - 15 use fast boot, or hybrid shut down, I can't remember Asus had one with the original software. I never use it so have forgotten. You 850 will get faster over time.

Asus Support Downloads that would be in the Win 7 OS, not sure it its in the Win 8 dirvers or not. I think it was "Instant On? Yea I just looked that's what the name is.

Do you have Rapid Mode selected in Samsung Magician?
Have you optimized for performance in Samsung Magician?

I installed Fast Boot and no improvements in boot speed. Also I have Rapid Mode Enabled and it's optimized for better performance. I don't know what else to do.

Well I guess that's as fast as you can get that 850 to run on your particular notebook. You know what is possible as you seen my AS scores, my boot up time is about the same as yours, about 15 seconds to log in and another 15 or so until I have full mouse control. I have a lot of crap running in the back ground 4 Gadgets, 2 AV AMalware, Adobe CS4 start up is slow but compared to a hard drive its miracle. My 850 is noticeable faster than the Liteon SSD was.
For faster boot ups look into what is load up on boot! eliminate what you really don't need starting up every boot.
