G75VW Backpack and USB Audio Adapter

Hey everyone! My first time posting on the forums so please forgive me if I ask some silly questions.

First, I was browsing through the forums for a while now and I haven't been able to find a thread discussing various backpacks to carry these laptops in. Currently, I'm using a Targus XL backpack to use for school as well as carrying things to a friend's house for a gaming session. Lately, I've been getting frustrated because the bag doesn't provide any real support for my back and I can't have the bag on for longer than 15 minutes or so.

My question is, is there a backpack that is fairly large enough to comfortably carry the G75VW as well as school books and provide good back support?

Second, I've been looking into the Razer Tiamat 7.1 Gaming Headset and love what it does and as the laptop is my primary computer at the moment; I want to know if there is a 7.1 USB Sound Card of some kind available. I've browsed through Google and Amazon and I find random products that seem extremely sketchy at best. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Welcome to the ROG Community!

Please note the following thread : http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?19230-Slappa-Mask-amp-Everki-Beacon-Backpacks&country=&stat...

The wonderful guys at Everki and SLAPPA both have great products that will meet your needs. If you have any specific questions don't hesitate to contact either company by telephone. They're very friendly 🙂

As far as your USB sound card question goes: USB headsets like the Tiamat actually have sound processing already built into them. There's no reason to purchase another device

Oh those look neat! I like the Everki best, the Slappa looks... strange to me... I don't know why...

The Tiamat headphones require a sound card for 7.1 otherwise I think it's stereo audio through usb. I can be wrong, but that's what I'm understanding according to Razer's technical specifications.

Sorry about that. It looks like they're doing something a little different.

I should have some of those units in my store by the end of next week. If we don't get a answer by then I will test my G75 w/ that head set.

I also have a bunch of sound cards in stock and i'll let you know which ones would work with the G75

Oh awesome! Thanks for doing that!

I've seen a few USB Sound Cards from Creative (Soundblaster 5.1 etc), so I thought that naturally there would be a 7.1 version available. I guess I was wrong. I certainly hope that there is a reliable one out there!

I've never had much luck with USB sound cards.

We've been giving our customers The Razer Banshee with the purchase of their G75 in order to make up for the current driver issues and that seems to work well enough.

I'll let you know when I receive my Tiamat 🙂

x2 im interested in the Tiamat 7.1 as well.

I had used the CM storm true 5.1. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! True 5.1 was amazing. Even for music. Dazed and confused by led zeppelin the parts where the music is swirling around, it literally feels like the music is spinning around your head.
It was amazing, even theater stuff is not that amazing being that theater speakers are so far away and not in perfect spacing away.

The build quality was like a solid stone house, I could probably sit on it and they might still be ok. But they were heavy... Neck hurt after2 or 3 hours, even after 2 weeks, so i took it back hoping the tiamat will be lighter.

But with me getting the G75 i guess i would need a USB external sound card to use the Tiamat. Keep us updated!
