G75V Screen Losing Signal

Brisheagin

Hi all,

Recently I've had a reoccurring problem in that my screen seems to lose connection to my GPU (670m) while playing games. For example, I play heavily modded Skyrim and get good fps (35-40fps on average), but at random times the screen will go entirely black (black like the laptop is shut off) though my game has not frozen (I can still move around and hear my footsteps and I've actually died due to this happening). The only way to get out of the black screen is to Ctrl-Alt-Delete or alt tab to the desktop, however before switching, for only a fraction of a second the screen will be covered with many white lines. I can only infer that these white lines mean that the screen is regaining connection to the GPU after losing the signal. My GPU is not running hotter than 74-76 degrees Celsius and my CPU does not get hotter than around 72-74 Celsius. I clean my fans about once a month and I've checked them just now and they have no dust on them. This happens in other games besides Skyrim such as The Witcher 2, but not in games that are not as graphically intensive, such as League of Legends. This has led me to believe that it has to do with the heat my GPU is reaching, though I have red that the mid 70's Celsius are not so high as to cause serious malfunctioning. I would take a look at my GPU but I don't have a clear idea of what to do to fix it. I also do not overclock my GPU so that isn't a problem either. My warranty has already expired as well so sending it in for repair is out of the question. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
