Hello all,and happy new year i am new here.Basicily my problem is that the latest 376.33 drivers keeps my 980m boy down a bit.Especially in leugue of legends. In every option i try to play the game i get a constantly 45-50 fps, moreover i have a significant drop in uniengine heaven 4.0 and a 10 fps drop in gta v.After all that,i downloaded for asus the vga drivers,of the version 362.60 if i am not wrong. And everything runs fine for example leugue of legends is to its old glory of 300-400 fps.I Tried ddu and reinstalling but the problem persist...is there anything you can advise me ?

When using Nvidia Inspector on my G752VT I could see that the preferred refresh rate is set to allow game to control rather than max allowable. This may be the case with yours. If your display refresh rate in game settings is set to 75 the game may be doing a bad job of capping the FPS. This happened with me on World of Tanks. FPS hovers around 50FPS and I get bad stuttering. If I enable vSync the FPS stays at 75 FPs and the game is smooth. I can get uncapped FPS by enabling max possible refresh rate in Nvidia Inspector and disabling VSync. Note: The preferred refresh rate setting is not available in Nvidia Control Panel. It may be the same issue you are having.

Disabling or enabling the vsync or gsync doesnt seem to fix the problem...

Roll back to an older driver. Some of these new drivers can be glitchy. They come out so fast that i bet theyre not all properly tested, personally im using an older one and it works fine.

Im using either 376.09 or 376.19. Sorry i cant tell which one exactly because nvidia geforce experience is not working again (Its always half broken, like almost all asus bloatware). Also JustinThyme is right, most of the drivers on the asus page are ancient, go straight to Nvidia to download drivers. (Mine is a G752VY GTX980M)

One warning - If you are planning a clean install/manual removal of a driver, disconnect your internet or turn off your router first. I once manually removed my nvidia driver to install a new one, but unknown to me, windows 10 will automatically download their own generic driver in the background. It cannot be turned off nor is it indicated in any way. This will mess up your clean install and cause many headaches.

Check NCP and download Nvidia Inspector to check the preferred refresh rate setting. Set it to max and see if it makes a difference. If it is set to allow game to manage then the game might be capping the FPS.

While a great deal of driver updates are great there is the occasional one that leaves a bit to be desired. The Driver on the ASUS page is generally older than dirt itself. They dont bother updating it because its a waste of their time to grab a driver from the same place you get it, pay for redistribution rights, then host it on their site when most will just go to Nvidia to get it. They put one or two up that they know work well and leave it at that. Nvidia however is constantly evolving The fact that this driver has been up for several weeks without a new one to replace it shows its stable and working. Ive been using this one across multiple platforms with no such issues. I would be checking on your configuration. First set it to max performance with the slider, then change to use advanced settings. Most of it will default to just fine others need help. I never leave anything at let the application decide.

A few that will give you a hit and FPS drops. at the bottom of the section.
GSync, for as much as people will cry like buffoons if this is not included its guaranteed to give you a performance hit 100% of the time, no exceptions. Unless you get vertical jittering or tearing leave it turned off.
A pic is easier, here are the settings that work for me. If you set the slider to max performance before selecting advanced tick box just above it the rest can be left as is.

Thank you for your reply.Firstly i updated to the newest version and i took a screenshot of my older (working) version settings. It seems that in the newest version in Nvidia inspector as a member advice me,the refresh rate was application prefered,i changed that.I tested that and nothing changed, then i tested and changing every setting in the screenshot. It seems that leaving out G-Sync works for me and the game returns to 300-400 fps rather than 30-50 in every option. But to me it is irrational because of older version it worked the same (high fps) with everything default.

I understand this and i totally agree...but if an user wants th g sync capabilities some tweaks can be done...
For example, G sync on and fast sync on...this is will keep everything stable...micro stutter some times...

Games like FIFA doesn't work well with uncapped fps...so the best option (without micro stutter) is to leave everuthing uncapped on the game settings and in the Nvidia CP put g sync and v sync on.

It is a bust but true.
