G752VY Keyboard button pops out once in a while

It seems i have stumbled upon my first problem with the G752VY.

The button U decides to spontaneously pop out once in a while... it happens when i press more towards the bottom of the button.
I haven't had this with any other buttons, just that one, not sure how i should fix that. But it gets quite annoying when i'm in a chat or have to type a lot, as you can imagine.

Sounds like you were just one of the unlucky ones to get a faulty keyboard. I just tried to pop out multiple keys on mine with a little force prying at them with a fingernail, no such luck. Not a one came loose, shifted nothing.
Dont know what region you are in and what the return policies are but its much easier to return and exchange than wait for an RMA even if you are some place where RMAs are turned over quickly.

Bought the laptop in a Belgian webshop. G752VY-GC067T-BE.
I'm living in Finland though, i won't be doing a retour, it would take weeks without a laptop and i doubt i'll be getting a different one for that.
Guess i'll just try to be more careful when i press the U. I can push it back to place with some wiggling though ... lol

Sorry to here about that man. I remember having to replace a key on my G750 when I had an object fall off a shelf from about 2 feet up and tag the keyboard. It cracked the "Y" key if I remember right. They can be replaced, they just take a little big of patients to get the very small clips in the correct place with small tools.

I think I went here if I remember right:
http://www.replacementlaptopkeys.com/

Although Im not seeing the G752 listed on any key replacement sites at the moment. They have up to the G751. You may have to wait a while or send it back to Asus. If you can live with it, that might be your best bet until they start stocking replacement keys for the G752. I imagine replacement keys will be up soon. There isnt much difference between the keys.
(ROG has simply become too expensive compared to the competition with same specs... 😞 )

Thnx for that website, it has some video's that could help me out actually:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tO0SgXZBhLA

I will give that a try when it pops out again because nothing seems to be damaged or broken off. no point in sending it all the way back for such a little matter really, such effort, much wow.

I have contacted that website for keys replacements, asked when they will expect the G752 parts.

I will actually buy a new key and see if that will fix the issue, never know...
Because it seems to me that the hooks in key hinge are more loose.
So it could be fixed by tucking in a new key, have to just wait for the parts to get in that shop i guess.

Yes I had the same issue on my G75, I did buy a replacement key assembly for my J key. On installing it I found that the actual issue was the little tabs on the Keyboard proper that hold the bottom of the hinge was loose on one side. I pressed it back down and it held the hinge correctly and solve the issue! Great care is required as if you somehow break one of the metal tabs that hold the hinge in place it will require a keyboard replacement. That was 2 years ago with no further issues. The video show you how the keys are installed so you can see how to uninstall the cap and hinge

Have you solved this yet?
I have encountered the same issue and i'd like to know more before trying to fiddle with the key hinges.

Yes since you replied to my reply, I fixed it way back in 2013 04 2014 don't remember now. There are at least a couple of Notebook replacement key web sites buy the replacement Key assembly follow the instructions to remove your defective key replace it with the new Hinge, Silicon Ball, and Key cap. Problem solve at least for me.

I since had my S key on my G752 VY come loose, I just dissembled it, found no issues metal tabs are in good shape, hinge in good shap key cap in good shap all plastic tabs intact and not bent. I reassembled the key and have not had the issue since.

we have the same problem. my keyboard letter A is popping out by itself. i'm very disappointed with the build quality of this laptop i spend more than 2500usd. i will never buy asus product again ever. one more thing the laptop always freeze when the display is turned off.
