G752VY - Bluetooth reinstalled after being missed from device manager

Sharing a relief.

The other day I noticed that the Bluetooth adapter had disappeared from the system tray and from the device manager of my two weeks old G752VY ROG notebook. I did get a:

'Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)'

instead.

I had done nothing what could have invoked this and I thought this to be faulty hardware. I read about USB ports sharing IO with other devices like WiFi or Bluetooth adapters and that this can be flaky.

After reading more about how to get the Bluetooth back I became worried as I read about faulty hardware in different fora. I tried deleting the faulty USB device and reinstalling it. Tried with new drivers. Nothing worked.

In the end I deleted the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft) which made the notebook inoperable. But after a (hard) reboot the drivers were newly found and installed and so was the Bluetooth adapter.

So luckily it was not a hardware but a software issue which got resolved.

thanks for sharing this info. my Bluetooth stopped working so I tried reinstalling the software which failed. all I was left with was uninstalling it from device manager thinking it will find it again and install again. I was wrong.
I had the same 'Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)' showing in device manager but I didn't remove the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller then shut the computer off.

I just restarted the computer and when I was at the windows login screen I just held the power button down until it turned off. waited a few seconds and started it back up and all was restored. Bluetooth was back in device manager and my external mouse was working again.

Windows must do a quick hardware check after a hard reboot.

thanks again for sharing
