G752VS Laptop - gestures aren't working after laptop awakens from sleep mode, solved?

This has been an ongoing issue. I am dismayed by the fact that ASUS has not even attempted to address this issue. Returning to a previous build of windows is not a workable option as once you update you are back to square one. Updates are critical for security reasons. Can someone from ASUS please address this issue?

I have exactly the same problem. There is nothing I haven't tried. Removed and installed newest version of Smart gestures, removed asus device from Device manager, updated them manually from downloaded drivers... Nothing worked. Asus smart gestures seems to be not working everytime I restart my laptop. I can't find it in running services or taskbar notification area.

I guess with ASUS we have to fend for ourselves.
Figured it out.
Just delete the ASUS PTP Driver. (control panel -> uninstall a program -> ASUS PTP Driver)
Do not update. (I assume this conflicts with another program)
All features of smart gestures will be back online including pinch to zoom and 2-finger scroll.
I am sure ASUS technical support could have figured this out if they gave 2 cents about their customers.

This makes it effectively use a default Microsoft driver for touchpads, that is dated 2006.
I'd like to say that is any better, unfortunately it freezes as well after going back from sleep.

Seems that the problem is somewhere else, not the touchpad driver specifically .

I have the same problem. Spent $3600 on a brand new G701 and I get a touchpad that doesnt work properly unless I reboot.
I have read every thread on this issue and there is no soultion. I have tried just about everything.

In addition, the touchpad is overly sensitive. Just while writing this post I barely touch the pad with my left-hand palm and the mouse flies of in a random direction and even gets a left-click.

So far very disappointed in the product and support. My last laptop was a MacBook Pro with superb touchpad.

Is there really no solution to this?

I can't believe the deafening silence on this issue from ASUS!

There are threads all over this site and indeed all over the Internet - a few claim to have found solutions but it seems that the vast majority are still looking for a solution. I have tried everything that has been suggested without the issue being resolved.

ASUS - in case this is unclear:
THE MOUSE GESTURES STOP WORKING AFTER THE LAPTOP SLEEPS.

I have wasted 5+ hours trying to fix this without luck. ASUS support regurgitates the same response... Reinstall drivers, which of course most of us had already tried. They listed the drivers and suggested the load order. Followed exact instructions and order but - no go. They suggested a factory reset. Drastic, but I tried it yet still has the same issues after allowing windows to update. No go. The final step they say is to return to the dealer. Like they will have any more luck... I also got one for a friend (same model G752) and the exact problem is there.

For a laptop that costs the price of half a car, the lack of communication and urgency on this issue is astounding.

Have I really made a mistake purchasing an ASUS?

ASUS FIX THIS OR UPDATE THE STATUS OF THIS ISSUE URGENTLY!

Else it's gonna go viral..

Glad you found a solution that works for you.

With your configuration, are you able to disable the touchpad when you have an external mouse connected?

I am able to disable the touchpad with my current configuration.
This can be adjusted by going to setting -> devices -> mouse.
