G752 vs G73SW

Level 8
I have a 4 yrs old G73SW with a 2nd Gen Sandy Bridge 2630QM processor , and Win 7 .
If I'd change to a new similar G75 with a 6th Gen Skylake ( say 6700HQ ) , and Win10 - as a rough estimate , what sort of general
performance increase might I see ?
I imagine that Win 10 would be slower than Win7 , but assume that a suitable SSD could compensate for that ?

Maybe you're referring to the new G752 and not G75? I have G74sx and upgraded to a G752VT. You cannot compare the two. My G74sx is not even supported for Windows 10. Performance without ssd is quite satisfactory, I think it boots at around 50seconds from power button to desktop. I've upgraded to a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB sata3 ssd. Boot time is now less than 20 seconds from pressing the power button. You have to put in mind that the G752 has only one bay for HDD so it's a better idea to upgrade using m.2 SSD. I have removed my stock 1TB hdd and put it in an external casing to use via usb.

Intel Core i7-2630QM @ 2.00GHz - 5568
Intel Core i7-6700HQ @ 2.60GHz - 8019

If you need it for gaming, look at the GPU performance benchmarks, CPU is rarely a limiting factor.

Thank guys . I think you're right Corporal , CPU is just an indication , not the whole picture .
