G752 - This may be the perfect upgrade for my G73

The G752 looks fabulous. I would get mine with at least 32 GB RAM, but have a question about the SSD.

It's listed as "NVME SSD", which is confusing to me. Does this mean it is soldered to the motherboard PCI bus? Is it an actual SSD that could be removed and upgraded? Is 512 GB the biggest available? I can't seem to find a user manual yet, or else that would probably answer my questions.

My current G73 has 3 hard drives inside, and I need even more space, so any SSD less than 1 TB would be too small; hence my reasoning for wanting to upgrade it.

We don't know for certain, but it should be like the G751 - should be a standard, removable M.2 SSD. I think 512GB is the biggest one at the moment.

I was at best buy {CA} today , G752 is expected Nov 1/2015 {in transit now Basic Model} will be the least expensive model , G750 and G751 will not be offered for sale after Nov 1. Only in stock units or demos. that's similar to What the Asus Service Centre {CA} told me . The Cheapest G752 has only 128Gb SSD not enough or non at all

Thanks for the link to the manual.

According to the manual, it appears that there is only one SATA bay for a traditional laptop SSD or HDD, and the M.2 card. That is a weakness in my opinion, unless I remove the DVD drive and replace it with another SSD or HDD.

At this point, I'm thinking that the best path forward is the 512 M.2 stick partnered with two 2TB hard drives, or wait for 2TB SSDs in to arrive in laptop form factor. Then in a year or two, hopefully the M.2 comes in a 1TB + size.

So I guess it's not "perfect" like my title says. But if the drive makers come through, then I could make it work.

This M.2 1TB has been in development for over a year. I keep going to Adata to see if its available.
Originally the web page below said the M.2 1TB would be available in 4th quarter of 2015. I have Adata memory in my laptop and Asus Tower. I do video editing for my TV station, I have 3HD in my G751 but the GTX video card is defective. motherboard must be replaced. I don't think ill replace it. Ill get a G752

Looking at upgrading my G74 to a G752 as well. Can't find a preorder anywhere in Canada other than NCIX. Bad thing is they don't have the model I am looking for exactly and there is no date listed as to when it will be available. Its a shame you can't get the 256GB SSD with the slightly less expensive models. I believe the G752 has two M2 slots though so maybe buying a bigger SSD and putting it in for my games would work.
