G752: Screen Tearing When Connected via HDMI?

Alright, I absolutely love everything about this laptop so far, but I am having one little problem that is throwing me off, more particularly when I have company over, which I tend to do alot.

Alright, so the other day I connected my laptop up to my TV using HDMI so that me and some friends could play some multiplayer games from my laptop onto the TV. Melty Blood, Speedrunners, Dustforce, Skullgirls, thinks of that nature. The problems is, whenever I run any of these games which the computer is MORE than capable of playing, I get massive screen tearing on the TV.... but not on the laptop screen itself. This happens whether I turn the display settings to extend displays, duplicate displays, or to only show on the TV. And I have absolutely no idea how to not make it tear.

We would play them off of the laptop, but the whole point of plugging it up to the TV is because it is a bigger screen. So if anyone has found a solution to a situation like this, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm heading downtown now to my college and we have a gameroom there where we can bring our own consoles and stuff to play things, and all of my college buddies are going to be down there today, so I'm trying to get this resolved by some point today. (Good luck with that one. :P)

TVs are not G sync capable and generally have a low refresh rate. If you want to play on a larger display you will need to buy a display that is compatible that supports G sync and has a decent refresh rate.

My other laptop was capable of letting me play these games without all the tearing. It didn't have gsync but it had a terribly bad build and was not strong enough to handle what this laptop can. Isn't there a way I can disable gsync or something so that I can use the TV as a screen? Btw the refresh rate of my TV is 60htz

The only thing I can tell you is to back off on the game settings. Tearing is caused when the display is posting images faster then the GPU can render them. Yes you can disable Gsync in NVIDIA control panel.

Don't expect much as this is a laptop, not an Xbox. Graphics handling is completely different.

These are games with pixelized graphics and don't even require a gpu to run properly. I could easily run all 4 of those games on a laptop with a Intel HD 4000, so game settings are not an issue here.

I've tried running the games while G-Sync is off, and I got the same results. Mind you, as I said before, they work perfectly fine when I'm on the laptop screen. It is only on the TV that the tearing happens. So how could it be a GPU problem?

No one said it was a GPU problem. You obviously have a better handle on this than anyone here. Good luck!

Sorry, I did not mean to come off as rude. I was on the bus when I wrote that, and I typically never use my phone to type anything, because, well, I type less and I don't get all of my words and details out there.

Now we both know that tearing happens when the GPU can't render fast enough to keep up with the display, which is why I don't understand why this particular situation is going on. My laptop's screen is 75hz and my TV is 60hz. The laptop screen has no tearing, but the TV does. With G-Sync on or off, this happens. You'd think it would be the other way around.

Again, I don't know if I was coming off as being rude, I just personally feel like I did based on the way that I was writing, and that was not my intention if that is how you felt about said writing.
