G751JY - Heating problem

Hi guys,

I have this laptop for above a year, and suddenly it starts shutting down all of a sudden, probably due to overheating (happens while I'm playing).

I have a feeling it's because the fan doesn't start up, I used to hear a big of noise while playing and feel air coming out with a but of force, now nothing....

How can I confirm it? is there a way to start up the fan? to control it? how to I verify the problem?

Thanks.

I used HWiNFO64 and NoteBook FanControl to check what's the cause and both fans run at 3300 all the time so it's not that.

the temperature on the GPU when crashing is 73 and the CPU is around 90...

What else can I do?

Thanks.

If you dont hear the fans operating, or feel the warm airflow coming out of the system, i would not trust any software that claims the fans are operational.

Best bet is to open up a ticket with Asus.

Those temperatures are not that high, GPU sounds normal, and the CPU, being a 4000 series haswell, sounds normal too. Tho given the fact that the laptop in question has a solid cooling system (when working proper), i think the cpu temperature oughta be a tad lowe.

In anycase, those are not crashing temperatures for that hardware.
