Befor I start I need to say sorry for my bad english.

2 month ago I bought my G751JT.
Since this day I have many internet isscues. I removed all bloatware and try a complete reinstall of windows.
Nothing changed

The other Problem. My USb mouse disconntes everytime. (I removed the USB saver ****). I try 3-5 diffrent mouses.
A little touch to the cable is enough to disconnect the mous.

I write a E-Mail to Asus but they just send me ****ty drivers wich doesn't work.

My question now:
Should I send my Notebook back to amazon and buy a Alienware 17?

z3ro-88, first, you should read the current forums at notebookreview.com for Alienware before buying a new one - everyone is jumping ship 🙂

It sounds like you might have a flaky connector, if jiggling the cable causes a disconnect. Is it all 4 USB ports, or just 1?

There have been problems reported with mice and the left side ports, do they work in the right side ports? All the ports are USB 3.0, so you might try putting your USB 2.0 peripherals behind a USB 2.0 hub (powered) plugged into a USB 3.0 port on the laptop.

Some people have complained about the USB ports on the left side not playing nice with some external USB storage - especially bus powered - so plug your storage in to power.

If it is just a flaky port, mechanical problem, then return it to the seller if you are still in the return period, and get a brand new replacement.

Alienware is expensive and in comparison aren't any improvement over the Asus G751JY. And, now that all new Alienware laptops have soldered CPU's/GPU's and have no upgrade path, they can't justify the extra cost at all.

Please come back and let us know how it works out 🙂

There are many many more, all complaining about the same things you see here in the Asus forums, plus lots more even worse stuff... no greener pasture in Dell Alienware - Land 😞

Same for MSI as Asus complaints go, not as bad as Dell, but equal.

wow, what an fast answer 😄 thank u

Yes, I have this problem on all 4 USB Ports.

I wont send the Notebook back to the seller 😄 they need 10-20 days ... this is to much haha

Some of my friends ask me to buy a MSI GT76 or a Alienware. Same Hardware just 3 kg lighter.

I like my Asus but I hate this Problem. 1800€ and the USB Ports doesn't work.

z3ro-88, that's pretty weird, all the mice you tried? I have heard of 1 or 2 "favorite" / old mice not working, but they got another one to work ok... but all the mice and all the ports??

Search around and look for reports of mice used on the G751 series here in the forums, and maybe someone reading this can post what works for them, and you can get one of those to see if it works ok in your laptop.

It's possible all 4 USB sockets are bad, but that would be very unusual. It's more likely you just have a passel of old non-working mice.

Is the seller local? Do you have a local computer shop? Maybe they can try out some more mice for you to find one that works.

You can't keep a laptop that has all 4 USB ports non-functional 🙂

You are going to either have to figure out if you have a bad laptop and send it in for replacement, before your return period expires!!!

Otherwise you are stuck RMA'ing it to Asus for repair.

https://vip.asus.com <= create a login, register your laptop, file a Technical Inquiry listing all the mice make/models you tried and are flaky in your USB ports, and ask Asus for help.

Don't listen to your friends jealous retorts - they just wish they had a new laptop, stick with what you want/like - and get things working.

Please come back and let us know how it works out 🙂

z3ro-88, sounds most like a bad mouse cable... rather than 4 bad USB ports...

Which make/model mouse is it?

And, oh yeah, STOP WIGGLING THE MOUSE CABLE!! 😉

A trick I have used in the past for a flaky mouse cable. Put a weight on top of the cable just in front of the bad part of the wire - something to stop the cable wiggling past that point - kind of a barrier in front of the bad part of the cable to keep it steady - so you can move around the mouse using the still good part of the cable.

Stop wiggling xDDDD

its a very cheep mouse... no name 😄 , but I try 3 diffrend typs. It would be very weird if all 3 have the same problem 😄

I should buy a "good" mouse?

z3ro, you bought a $3000 laptop, throw a box of $5 used mice at it, and decide you need a $6500 laptop because the $5 mice don't work? 🙂

Honestly, I walked into a new friends house once, he asked me to get a mouse, I picked a mouse out of a box of mice, the cleanest looking one - and it was bad... the next mouse was bad, finally he tells me to stop picking old broken mice out the dead mouse box, and pull a brand new one off the stack of brand new $7 mice boxes - "those damn things are dying all the time" 🙂

And, after I learned how to not flick the mouse cable - to the end with the connector - and started coiling the cable so that it fed nicely, my mouse cables stopped wearing out.

Do yourself a favor, and do some research on cool mice, pads, and keyboards, and get a couple to try. It's actually a lot of fun!

Actually, I moved to wireless mice as soon as the response time came down... cables just fail and get in the way 😉

OK, here is an update 🙂

Since the last Windows update the USB is nearly fixxed.

It still happens but not that much. I asked my friend for a mous to try if it happens with a good mous, too.

But befor I plugged his mous in, I want to disconnect my mous with "wiggling" the cable again, but it doesn't disconnect anymore.

After 1 house of surfing the web it happend again and I nearly freaked out -.-

What is the f... problem here? Help plz 😞

z3ro-88, from your list / sequence of events, you are still running the broken mouse?, the one that disconnects?, and it worked for an hour and then disconnected again?

Or, did you plug in your friends mouse and used it for an hour and it too disconnected?

If it was still the old mouse, try the new one 🙂
